Join Our Team as a Heavy Diesel Fleet Mechanic!

Eastern Shore Forest Products is hiring a Diesel Mechanic to join our team in maintaining our in-house fleet of tractors, trailers, and various medium-duty trucks and pickups. This is a hands-on role with a steady workload and a variety of vehicles, ideal for someone who takes pride in keeping equipment running safely and efficiently. This position is best suited for candidates already located on or near the Eastern Shore of Maryland.

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair diesel trucks, trailers, and support vehicles.
• Use diagnostic software (Mack, Volvo, International, etc.) to identify issues
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical and hydraulic systems
• Complete welding and fabrication repairs as needed
• Maintain accurate service records and work orders
• Follow all safety policies and procedures, including proper PPE use
• Work with team members to keep fleet road-ready and compliant
• Work in the field and in the shop — no two days are the same.
• Collaborate with operators and project managers to keep timelines on track.

• Experience as a diesel mechanic, fleet technician, or heavy equipment mechanic
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines and truck systems
• Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues
• Experience with diagnostic tools/software
• Experience with Caterpillar, Komatsu, or Tigercat equipment is a plus but not required.
• Welding experience is a plus
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Ability to lift and work in a physically active shop environment
• High school diploma or equivalent (technical training a plus)
